Fingerprint Cards and card solution provider, FutureCard Industries have partnered to bring contactless biometric payment cards to bank customers in the Middle East region.

The card will feature Fingerprints' recently announced software platform for payments, FPC-BEP, and the T-Shape module which is part of the 1300-series from Fingerprints. It has ultra-low power consumption and is tailored to be integrated in smartcards using standard processes.

"FutureCard is a uniquely positioned card supplier in the vibrant EMEA region. We are pleased that FutureCard has selected our biometric technology, and to see our outstanding T-Shape and software platform in the hands of more and more customers around the world.", says Thomas Rex, SVP Business Line Smartcards at Fingerprints.

Contactless payment networks are well established in the Middle East region, with UAE leading the way in terms of adoption and influencing adjacent Middle East and African countries. With many premium and tech-savvy users in the region, introducing biometric payment cards will offer great benefits for both banks, merchants and consumers.

"We chose biometric hardware and software from Fingerprints since they do have the leading technology on the market, when it comes to Biometric cards. Fingerprints biometric technology fits well with FutureCard's business approach which is to satisfy our precious customers by offering them the best card solutions available on the market", says Hassan Mokdad, CEO at FutureCard.
