Swedish fingerprint software and hardware developer Precise Biometrics has revealed that its mobile solution has been integrated in Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X.
Precise Biometrics’ algorithm solution for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile, was integrated in cooperation with a sensor developed by Fingerprint Cards.
Earlier this week, PB revealed that it will halt work with FPC this year, as alternative partners are found for deployments.
It also finalised the purchase of liveness detection algoritihim specialist firm NexID this week, and revealed its year-end report.
“Fraud-mitigation through liveness detection is crucial for both consumers and providers of financial services in order to perform secure mobile payments,” said Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics in the report. “Users might even accept slightly more latency in exchange for a higher level of security when using their fingerprint to access a payment application in the smartphone.”
“Combining and integrating a patented anti-spoofing capability into Precise Biometrics fingerprint matching software, will result in an effective solution for fraud-mitigation while maintaining high biometric performance. By adding anti-spoof functionality to our offering we are providing enhanced security that meets customer demand, addresses future security requirements and emerging standards for biometric authentication.”
