Fight for the Future, a digital rights group, has called for a federal ban on government use of facial recognition surveillance.

The group has launched BanFacialRecognition.com, an online call to action.

It features an online form that quickly connects people to their local, state, and federal lawmakers.

The website makes the case that Silicon Valley lobbyists are "trying to avoid the real debate: whether technology this dangerous should even exist."

"Facial recognition surveillance technology is unreliable, biased, and a threat to basic rights and safety. Fill out the form below to tell your Congressional and local lawmakers to ban this dangerous technology," writes the group.
